Reflect on Northland’s Impact: Has a family member attended or graduated from Northland? Share how that experience shaped them. Has Northland played a role in supporting your business or the local community? How have you witnessed Northland’s values—resilience, sustainability, and community—make a difference?
Why Are You Supporting Northland? Think about why Northland’s mission and future are important to you, and share why you’re giving to Northland College this Giving Tuesday.
Keep it Short and Impactful: Aim for 30-60 seconds.

Start with an Introduction: Example: “Hi, I’m [Your Name], a proud parent of a Northland student/alum” or “Hi, I’m [Your Name], and Northland has had a huge impact on my family/business/community.”
Share Your Story: Briefly describe how Northland made a difference in your family, business, or life. Highlight a specific moment or outcome that illustrates Northland’s positive impact.
End with a Call to Action: Example: “This Giving Tuesday, I’m supporting Northland College to help them continue changing lives and creating leaders. Join me in making a difference!”
Lighting: Make sure your face is well-lit and the background is tidy. Natural light works great!
Sound: Find a quiet space to record. Speak clearly and confidently. Keep your device close for good sound quality but far enough away that you are the focus. Try 3-4 feet.
Location: Consider shooting in a location your recipients may recognize.
When recording with a phone or tablet, use a tripod or prop it up with something like books for stability. Try not to hold it.
